Yesterday I arrived at Ayala Makati around 1130 to report for work. I noticed when I was walking in Paseo towards our building that there are (unusually) loads of people in Ayala Triangle Park. I dismissed it with the thought that there’s an event and it’s nearly lunch time.

I just read before posting this that there was a bomb threat in Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Tower 1, the same area as the park.

Dunno what happened but I hope no one was hurt or anything.

Haha, we were comparing the new and old twenty (20) Philippine peso denomination earlier at the office. I thought the new P20’s color is not better than the old one, but I like the new one =)

Me and Ate Badette were chatting in YM as well as answering posts here in FB. I myself was listening to some songs in my phone.

And suddenly, I felt the earthquake.

At first, I thought I was just feeling dizzy, though I didn’t have high fever or I wasn’t even sleepy at the time.

Then it got stronger and lasted for a minute or two. Or three. I don’t know. All I remember I was feeling dizzy and was kinda moving in my chair and I feel the earth beneath my feet rumble.

Papa Tan (one of our close guy friend) pm’ed me about it. It stopped here first before it stopped there in Cainta, Rizal, PH. And to think Ate Badette lives in Caloocan City, PH she felt it all the same. Also a cm8 living in the Upper Antipolo area (I’m living on the lower area)..

I’m scared. I don’t wanna move. I was almost crying after.

5.9 - 6.0 magnitude. For me that’s strong already. Especially that I’m on the ground floor of our house and I’m just sitting. And there’s the Marikina Fault Line out there.

Thank God we are all safe. Still, let’s all pray for our safety. :’)

I remember what happened 2 years ago, Sept. 26 2009, as if it happened yesterday. How I went home from work (I was still working at a call center in Ortigas back then). How I went to get sleep for 5 hours, after eating breakfast. How I was having my lunch on our living room while watching the news with my grandparents, brother and cousin..

And the next thing I knew the water was rising fast and we had to put all of our stuff upstairs. In the midst of it, when the water was between my waist and knee, my grandma was already in panic because my grandpa was bedridden and he cannot sit properly in his long chair. She shouted for me and brother to sit down and we both did, too late to realize that we went and got our mobile phones wet. We lost communication outside.

Around 4-5pm, all of our stuff that can be relocated upstairs have been moved. Television, dvd player, computer, clothing, pictures, fish bowl, china ware, food.. Good thing my grandma just cooked food before I ate. And we have leftover bread and cans of sardines and corned tuna. And clean water to drink. Couple of candles and a lighter. We settled upstairs, the water inside our house was nearly 5 feet and very much muddy.

My uncle was out that day, bring with him the car, needing to see the doctor because he wasn’t feeling well. Since he wasn’t able to get home, he left the car at the mall and waited for the next day to go home. Me, my brother and my cousin decided to go out to see what’s happening outside the village, even if the water was waist-deep. We see a variety of vehicles lined up on the highway. Trucks with a lot of people. Wrecked cars near the village gate.

The aftermath.. It was hard to clean the house, everything including our bed downstairs, cabinets, ref, washing machine, dinner table, sala set, and the floor were covered in mud. Took around 3-4 days to take it all off. Me and my uncles were the ones who took off the fallen big tree branches on the road. I posted pics on FB how our house looked like before we went upstairs to settle.

Much has been lost during those times. More so in the part of others that had to stay in their roof just so they don’t drown and those who lost their houses and their love ones.

Now that’s there’s Pedring here in PH, I pray for the safety of everyone. I hope this doesn’t turn out as another Ondoy.

International Code Name: Nesat

I woke up early at the usual time to get ready for work. Having had breakfast, I was contemplating if I should head to work or stay at home for safety. I wasn’t feeling well for more than a week and I didn’t want to push myself to the point of exhaustion with possible pneumonia so I opted to stay at home.

Around 0700 the electricity was cut off. Strong winds made trees dance to its rhythm. I decided to continue reading The 48 Laws of Power so I settled in the bedroom. Given the fact that the weather’s cool, I dozed off and woke up around 1300. I had lunch and spent the afternoon talking with my grandma, brother, uncle and aunt. We had our afternoon snack together.

Around 1630, we had our electricity back. And my grandma was disappointed to have missed The Fierce Wife (she’s a big fan of koreanovelas). I prepared hot water for bath and clothe myself in warm think clothes. The only thing missing is a pair of socks.

Two years ago, this wasn’t what I was doing. All day long Pedring is more of strong winds and less of rainfall but we still heard over the news that Marikina River reached 19m or Alert Level 2 if Im not mistaken. And that there are people taking advantage to do bad things.

Just a few minutes ago, the rainfall has increased and the strong winds getting calmer. Now it’s quiet.

Praying for good weather. For the floods to subside. Yes, the coolness in the atmosphere is nice but it won’t be nice if we are all drenched in water. Praying for the goodness in people. Just because there’s a saying “one’s trash is another man’s treasure” doesn’t give people a reason to steal from forsaken vehicles in flood. It’s better if we could just help each other in this times of need.

I followed all the instructions.. Still :c

anyone else tried this?

Reading Steve Jobs’ commencement address, June 12, 2005 in Manila Bulletin.

When I saw these I wanted to go all around the Philippines and take as much pictures. Philippines is so beautiful, okay? So before dreaming of going around the world, explore your own land. :) So much beauty, so many places. :)

Seeing these pictures makes me wanna travel all around my country.

when I said it was raining. She thinks it’s just the sound of a car engine. Then I told her to look outside. Then she started talking about the clothes left to dry out back and our stove might get wet.. The windows upstairs might be open..

I can never recall a day in my life that it’s raining hard on a sunny weather O____O

I don’t even know if the typhoon is near the area. Or if there’s even one.

Is this the effect of global warming?

the rain earlier~
