I woke up early at the usual time to get ready for work. Having had breakfast, I was contemplating if I should head to work or stay at home for safety. I wasn’t feeling well for more than a week and I didn’t want to push myself to the point of exhaustion with possible pneumonia so I opted to stay at home.

Around 0700 the electricity was cut off. Strong winds made trees dance to its rhythm. I decided to continue reading The 48 Laws of Power so I settled in the bedroom. Given the fact that the weather’s cool, I dozed off and woke up around 1300. I had lunch and spent the afternoon talking with my grandma, brother, uncle and aunt. We had our afternoon snack together.

Around 1630, we had our electricity back. And my grandma was disappointed to have missed The Fierce Wife (she’s a big fan of koreanovelas). I prepared hot water for bath and clothe myself in warm think clothes. The only thing missing is a pair of socks.

Two years ago, this wasn’t what I was doing. All day long Pedring is more of strong winds and less of rainfall but we still heard over the news that Marikina River reached 19m or Alert Level 2 if Im not mistaken. And that there are people taking advantage to do bad things.

Just a few minutes ago, the rainfall has increased and the strong winds getting calmer. Now it’s quiet.

Praying for good weather. For the floods to subside. Yes, the coolness in the atmosphere is nice but it won’t be nice if we are all drenched in water. Praying for the goodness in people. Just because there’s a saying “one’s trash is another man’s treasure” doesn’t give people a reason to steal from forsaken vehicles in flood. It’s better if we could just help each other in this times of need.
